Privacy Policy

GRADE is a tool for colour work on set. It collects the little it needs to keep your looks on every device you use, and nothing else.

The short version. No analytics. No tracking. No advertising. No third-party SDKs of any kind. We store your account email and the colour work you choose to sync, on servers in the European Union. Nothing about the images you grade ever leaves your iPad unless you save a still and sync it yourself.

Who we are

GRADE is made by Rendeando SL, Calle Villagarcía 2, Local 1, 28011 Madrid, Spain (CIF B88564919). We are the data controller for everything described here. You can reach us at vico@rendeando.com.

What we collect

Your account. An email address and a password, which you give us when you sign up. The password is stored hashed; we never see it. Your session token is kept in the iPad's Keychain.

Your colour work, if you sync it. Looks, LUTs, projects, shots and their notes. This is the point of having an account: it is what keeps your looks safe and available on any iPad you sign in on.

Stills you save. Frames you freeze and save yourself. They stay on the iPad unless you sync them, and then they are stored with the rest of your project.

Purchase status. Whether your trial is running and whether you have an active subscription. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card, your name or your billing address.

What we do not collect

The local network

GRADE asks for permission to access your local network. It uses it for one thing: to reach the LUT boxes and cameras on the set's own network so it can send them the grade. That traffic stays on your network and never reaches us. If you decline the permission, everything else in the app still works.

Where it is stored

On servers in the European Union — our database runs in Paris (AWS eu-west-3) and files are stored in the same region. We do not transfer your data outside the EU.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Delete a look, a project or a still in the app and it is deleted from our servers too. Ask us to delete your account and we remove everything associated with it, normally within a few days.

Who else sees it

Nobody, other than the infrastructure providers that host it on our behalf: Amazon Web Services for the database and file storage, and Apple for the App Store, payments and — if you agree to send them — crash reports. We do not sell or share your data, and there is no third party doing analytics on it.

If you invite someone to collaborate on a project, the looks and shots in that project become visible to them. That only happens when you invite them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to vico@rendeando.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you think we have got it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.

Children

GRADE is a professional tool for film crews. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app.
